Fine Nut with Export Quality

Day after day and year after year, the Huerta Santa Patricia has been making improvements and extensions in the production capacity of the highest quality pecan.

Through the acquisition of land extensions, today we have an area of ​​45 hectares, with pecan trees of 30 years, 15 years and 10 years.

With this, the Huerta Santa Patricia produces 50 tons of pecan every year, in varieties of wichita, western and pawnee walnut with export quality abroad, as well as for national consumption, and in the region.

Pawnee Pecan

One of the best producers of usable almonds, it produces a high quality pecan of medium to large size (10 gr./nut).

Its seed has a light brown color and a medium peel adherence.

There is no other cultivar of large pecan that completes its maturation so early allowing it to enter early markets.

Wichita Pecan

Originally from Texas, the wichita nut, also called a gift nut, is excellent as a gift, or to enjoy a delicious snack.

A nut of excellent quality and a good percentage of kernel, ripens in the middle of the season, it is a small to medium nut with a light to medium brown color and medium to strong adherence to the shell.

It has a good resistance to diseases.

Western Pecan

The western pecan is used mainly for cracking or chipping.

Ideal for pastries, sauces, sweet dishes, desserts, salads, purees, drinks, sweets, pecan oil, among other foods, in addition to being nutritious it can be used for the skin.

This fruit tree was declared an emblematic tree of Coahuila.

Located in Morelos Coahuila, and originally established as a family recreation area, In La Huerta Santa Patricia, a variety of pecan trees popular in the region were planted: Cultivars for arid climates: Pawnee, Western and Wichita, with their different qualities.

Classification, Harvest and Sale of Pecan

Pecans are classified by their size, by almond and quality of almond that comes in the nut. The month of September begins the harvest, from the month of September and until February, the sale of walnuts and the sale of almonds, either heart or pieces, begins from September to February.
